Hitaddu, Jetty

This picture of the Hithadhoo jetty was a very familiar sight to all those airmen who worked at the Transmitter Station on this island.  The Hithadhoo Hermits as they were called regularly returned to Gan by boat after a period of work at this site.  The jetty was about one-quarter of a mile long and the walk to the Transmitter Station took around 20 minutes. One of the two 350 foot Aircraft Radio Beacon masts can be seen in this picture.
